Established in 1994, Trillium Village Collectors Club is one of Canada's oldest Department 56 collector clubs.  We are based in Toronto but have club members all over the province of Ontario.

The objective of our club is to provide a meeting place for club members to share the joy and excitement of their hobbies and to share display ideas featuring their favourite collectibles.  All collectors and retailers of Department 56 Village and Holiday products are welcome to join the club.  Club membership also includes an informative newsletter mailed physically or electronically to each club member every other month.  Membership form is available for download on the "About Us" page.

Trillium Village Collectors Club is a not-for-profit organization.  Although we appreciate support from our retailer members, the club is not affiliated with any Department 56 retailers.

Welcome!

Welcome to the very first post on the Trillium Village Collectors Club blogging site.

First of all, you may ask, "What is a blog?" I am sure you have heard of this term many times before but you may not realize what it really means.   Of course, if you search (or google) the internet, you will find a definition for blog similar to this:

A blog, an abbreviation for the term weblog, is a type of website maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary.

Hopefully, I will be able to keep this website as current (or "regular") as possible.

For the past few years, we have maintained a "normal" web site for our club.  However, due to a number of reasons, such as recent policy changes implemented by our web site host, bandwidth access problems, work commitment and aging computer hardware, maintaining the web site has become time consuming.  Then I came across a blogging site (http://tickledwithink.blogspot.com/) maintained by Ann (one of our club members) and something started to click.  As I ventured into this whole new world of blogging, I discovered tons of interesting information and ideas that convinced me that blogging would be the way to go for our "new" web site.

To keep a long story short, here we are with our first attempt with a blogging web site.  Hope you enjoy your stay.  You may find that this site does not have as much information as our previous web site.   But hopefully, as times go on, I will be able to transfer material from the previous web site to this site gradually.  In any case, if you have any questions about this web site, you can always contact us at tvcc@rogers.com.  Of course, if you wish to leave a comment here, you can do that by clicking on the word "comment" below.

P.S.  A club member, Cheryl, is currently recovering from her surgery.   We wish her a speedy recovery and we have no doubt that Peter will take good care of her!

P.P.S.  Another club member, Yvette, is leaving the end of this week for an exciting trip to a remote area of the Province of Quebec (close to the Arctic Circle) to teach the natives the magic of quilting.   We would like to wish her a pleasant trip and we cannot wait to hear about her trip on her return!

  1. Hi Everyone,
I'm on the right side of the green and look forward to attending the next meeting. This surgery certainly isn't for the faint at heart but it's over and hopefully I'll start to see some recovery soon. I'm up to six 5 min walks each day and am working hard at getting my stamina built up. Thanks to all who have been keeping me in your prayers and called wishing me well. You can never have too much love. Cheryl
