May 2010 Mid-year Introductions

Collectors who subscribe to Department 56 email updates would have received an email from Department 56 at the end of May announcing 2010 mid-year introductions.  As in many previous years, Department 56 would try to excite collectors by adding “a few” new items to its various collectible line of products.
 
This year is certainly no exception.   Although normally, we would expect over a dozen of new pieces introduced for either collection, this year saw only 8 new Snowbabies items and 7 Village items.  But the number of village items is offset by the addition of 2 brand new villages: a traditional looking village with straight-lined buildings called the Williamsburg and a whimsical Disneyana village under the Christmas category.  These additions would no doubt attract new or old collectors who are young or young-at-heart!  Below are samples of some of the new introductions (hover cursor above photographs to see the name of the item).   To see the complete lists of new introductions and their photographs, please visit these Department 56 links: Village, Snowbabies and Christmas.
