Established in 1994, Trillium Village Collectors Club is one of Canada's oldest Department 56 collector clubs.  We are based in Toronto but have club members all over the province of Ontario.

The objective of our club is to provide a meeting place for club members to share the joy and excitement of their hobbies and to share display ideas featuring their favourite collectibles.  All collectors and retailers of Department 56 Village and Holiday products are welcome to join the club.  Club membership also includes an informative newsletter mailed physically or electronically to each club member every other month.  Membership form is available for download on the "About Us" page.

Trillium Village Collectors Club is a not-for-profit organization.  Although we appreciate support from our retailer members, the club is not affiliated with any Department 56 retailers.

Happy New Year!

Although we are still a few hours away from 2011 as I type this, the new year has already arrived in many places on Earth.  I am here to wish each and every one a healthy and happy new year.

First of all, our Christmas November meeting was, as usual, well attended with over 40 club members.  Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the activities and fun.   Please click on this link to see the highlights of the meeting.

Our last club event of the year was our annual Christmas brunch.  Just like last year, we went all out and enjoyed our brunch at the Mandarin Chinese Restaurant where everyone got to enjoy as much food as one wish.  The weather was brisk, the food selection was abundant and the friendship was overwhelming.  All the photographs from this event are available at the Christmas Brunch Photo Album link.

In my last blog, I mentioned about Charles Dickens and his association with a Clint Eastwood movie.  Little did I realize that Oprah Winfrey, the world famous TV talk show hostess, was also on the “Charles Dickens’ wagon” when she picked two of his very popular classic novels as her 65th Book Club Selection.  At Oprah’s web site, you can view a video of this announcement when she chose A Tale of Two Cities and Great Expectations for her book club.  Inside the same web site, you can also find an interesting mini-biography of Charles Dickens and his work.
