Established in 1994, Trillium Village Collectors Club is one of Canada's oldest Department 56 collector clubs.  We are based in Toronto but have club members all over the province of Ontario.

The objective of our club is to provide a meeting place for club members to share the joy and excitement of their hobbies and to share display ideas featuring their favourite collectibles.  All collectors and retailers of Department 56 Village and Holiday products are welcome to join the club.  Club membership also includes an informative newsletter mailed physically or electronically to each club member every other month.  Membership form is available for download on the "About Us" page.

Trillium Village Collectors Club is a not-for-profit organization.  Although we appreciate support from our retailer members, the club is not affiliated with any Department 56 retailers.

What 1599 building was a 20-sided icosagon?

Happy New Year!    Welcome to 2012 (and hopefully, the Mayans’ prediction is wrong).   After a relaxing and wonderful Christmas season, life is finally back to normal once again.

As this is the start of a brand new year, let turns our focus to what Department 56 has planned for its faithful collectors.   Last I heard, there will be exciting new introductions for both the Village and Snowbabies collections.    Here are some “unofficial” sneak peeks of what might be arriving at a retailer near you in 2012:

DV The Partridge & Pear DV Devonshire Creamery CIC Atwater's Coffee House AV Reit Train Station NEV New Britain Vestry Church
NEV Essex St. Witch House NP Nana Split's Ice Cream Parlor OSV The Little Brown Church SVH Mordecai Mansion A Christmas Story Miss Shields House
JS Heartwood Crk Ice Cream Parlor WV Alexander Purdie Stable Disney Goofy's Gas Station WF Edgewater Inn SB Dolphin Tricks

Be mindful that the above is still “unofficial” and is subject to change.   Let’s hope we don’t have to wait too long before Department 56 releases its official announcement.

Our club’s home tour will take place this Saturday.  Looks like the weather is co-operating and we will not be running into any inclement weather.    Hopefully, I will have some photographs to show in the next blog update.

So, do you know the answer to the question posed at the top?   This was a final question on the TV game show Jeopardy! aired last month.   The reason I ask this question is obvious – there is a connection between the answer and Department 56.  As a matter of fact, Department 56 produced a lit-house for the building in question as part of the Historical Landmark Series in 1997.   I will reveal the answer in the next blog.   In the meantime, stay happy and healthy!
